Rejections

03/22/2022

Submissions may or may not be published on GreatSentences.com. Please see the terms and conditions.

Your great sentences may be rejected from publication on this site, with no feedback given to you, for any or none of the reasons below.

  1. Greatness is an opinion. Just because I don't like your sentences does not mean they aren't great. The world is filled with "greatness" that I think isn't that great. So, if I think your greatness isn't great, you'll be in good company. You'll understand if you find that my choice of great sentences is just a bunch of mediocre sentences to you.
  2. Most of the time, if I don't like something, I can figure out why I don't like it. However, because some people can be psychologically damaged by hearing what others don't like about their work, I don't always point out my dislikes.
  3. I have a lot of stuff to read.
  4. Capitalizing the first letter of every word in a sentence will get your submissions rejected.
  5. Using an underscore instead of a hyphen or dash will get your sentences rejected.
  6. Your submission will be rejected if you ignore that you may submit multiple sentences, as long as each submission is a single sentence.
  7. Submissions in all caps will be rejected.
  8. I won’t give feedback in order to stay clear of accusations of mansplaining. When self-preservation is key, it is surprisingly easy to stand by and watch others flounder.
